A Light in the Darkness

Waitrose Food Magazine commission Gail Armstrong for paper illustrations for an article on happiness in the kitchen.

Featured in the December issue, Gail's pieces illustrate an article called 'A Light In The Darkness' by Ella Risbridger who says, "It has been a strange and unsettling year, but in the comfort of our kitchens, we can find sanctuary and hope". Gail's job was to liven the editorial with art inspired by snippets of the text, Gail adds, "As most of us emerge from Lockdown for the second time, it’s a wonderfully warm piece reflecting on the numerous newfound activities embarked on this year, the simple pleasures enjoyed and how, with the kitchen as the heart of her home, she has an overwhelming urge to paint it pink."
