Clémence Guillemaud

Based in Marseille, Clémence works for children’s publishers as well as a range of global brands. Her beautiful watercolour imagery brings softness and sensitivity to each project she works on, and clients love her individual style and the authentic look and feel of her work. Studying Fine Art in the city of Pau, and Cultural Mediation at the University of Aix Marseille, she’s influenced by great storytelling past and present. Inspiration comes from Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, as well as mythology from around the world and the art of Beatrice Blue and Heikala. As well as client projects, Clémence uses her artwork in a range of products sold on her online shop.

Approach

The nuances of hand-painted artwork are important to Clémence, and watercolours are her favourite. Even when she’s painting digitally, she uses watercolour tools to fantastic effect, preserving real world textures and the hand of the artist in her work.
