Art Meets Proteomics

Juliet Percival's art visualises medical breakthroughs for Nature Methods.

Juliet was commissioned to create a cover and internal illustrations for Nature Methods to accompany the groundbreaking research article, 'A New Understanding of Tissue Biology from MS-Based Proteomics at Single-Cell Resolution,' by Associate Professor Andreas Mund and his team at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research.

The artwork captures the innovation behind Deep Visual Proteomics (DVP), a transformative spatial mass spectrometry technology that enables the study of single cells in their native environment.

While ultimately not selected for the journal’s cover, Juliet's illustration dynamically represents the study’s impact on tissue biology and its potential to reshape our understanding of cell and tissue function, with significant implications for human health and disease.
