Question: What drew you to illustration/design? Henryk: Watching "Yellow Submarine" with Heinz Edelmanns illustrations.
Question: Do you have any formal design training? Henryk: Yes, I studied painting at the art academy in Breslau.
Question: Where do you live? Henryk: In Berlin.
Question: Can you describe your studio for me? Henryk: Old building room with a blue table.
Question: Who or what is your biggest inspiration? Henryk: Pictures, books, films and observation.
Question: How do you get the best ideas? Henryk: At night, thinking.
Question: What technique do you use? Henryk: I draw conventionally and color digitally with Painter.
Question: What would be your dream job/commission? Henryk: Always anything with cars.
Question: Who are your illustration heroes? Henryk: Heinz Edelmann, Tomi Ungerer, Janusz Grabianski and Grzegorz Rosinski.
Question: Do you keep a sketch book? Henryk: No.
Question: What are your hobbies? Henryk: Long walks and watching people.
Question: If you were not an illustrator, what would you be? Henryk: A painter (free artist).
Question: Who would you like to meet? Henryk: There are too many.
Question: If you could travel back in time, where would you go to? Henryk: Renaissance.
Question: If you won the lottery, would you still work as illustrator? Henryk: I don´t know, but I think so. After running out of money, at the latest. I don´t play lotto to be on the safe side.
