Arizona desert map for Buddhist magazine targeting Western readers

The Buddhist Traveller

Working for The Buddhist Review, Débora Islas makes a map of an Arizonian desert landscape.

Débora was commissioned to create a detailed map for the New York-based magazine; one that has been sharing Buddhist perspectives with Western audiences since 1991.

The map beautifully captures the landscape of the Sonoran Desert in Tucson, Arizona, while highlighting key Buddhist points of interest for travellers. These include Wat Buddhametta, Upaya Sangha of Tucson, and the Yume Japanese Gardens of Tucson, among others.

Débora's illustration combines natural desert elements with spiritual landmarks, blending the serene atmosphere of Buddhist sites with the rugged beauty of the Southwest.
