The Personal Airbag

Daniel O'Leary develops the artworks for a wearable medical device designed to reduce injuries from falls.

Developed by an orthopaedic surgeon in the US, the airbag system cuts down on devasting injuries acquired by the elderly from falls. Rather than being preventative, the jacket acts as a device which detects a fall, inflates and therefore reduces the injury from impact. Daniel’s conceptual drawings visualise the mission and are used as part of the client's first design, fundraising, and marketing efforts. Read more here.
