Approach

An image starts with Victoria’s mechanical pencil hitting the paper, where she draws strong, deliberate lines to form the main composition with very little shading. Then it goes in one of two directions. It might be scanned into her computer for further work and colouring in Photoshop. Alternatively, to give it more interest she’ll paint in some watercolours before applying some finishing touches digitally.

Style

Victoria’s style is clear and simple, yet sophisticated with touches of playfulness about it. Her use of colour is carefully controlled – most images are black and white with slight hints of colour to bring emphasis.
