Sunny Gu Live Event Drawing

Working in both Los Angeles and Chicago, Sunny Gu has a wealth of live event experience. She appears at fashion festivals and designer product launches, at shopping mall promotions and VIP parties. Wherever she goes, guests love watching their paintings develop. What they get is much more personal than a taking a simple selfie… but they will take a selfie with their painting, sharing it far and wide on social media.

Approach

Sunny’s goal is to capture the unique beauty of each sitter, observing their features and fluidly capturing their essence. This is usually done in watercolour, but Sunny is flexible when it comes to medium and surface. She’s painted on paper, canvas, bags, sunglasses cases and various other items as per her client’s needs.

Style

Bright colours and rich, floral details are part of Sunny’s natural style and often feature in her live drawing images, however her main focus is on capturing the moment and the guest’s individual look using expressive brushwork.
