Based in London, Lucia Emanuela Curzi creates fashion and beauty imagery that stands out thanks to the artist’s highly individual style. Expressive, bold, colourful – her illustrations exude elegance, attitude and originality, setting just the right creative tone for her clients.
Her experience in the industry sets her up nicely for the projects she tackles as well. She spent four years working in advertising and winning awards, and as well as illustrations she produces textile patterns. Her work has been exhibited in the V&A and Tate Britain, and she’s an experienced live drawing illustrator, sought after for high profile events. Other areas she works in include architecture, hand-rendered type and packaging.
Lucia has a BA in Media Design, which she followed up with courses at the London College of Fashion.
Approach
Lucia’s unique approach begins with a preliminary collage using photographic references and sketches before beginning an artwork. Her actual illustrations are created on paper using ink, watercolour, pastels, pens or acrylic with a free and instinctive technique.Style
Strong black ink marks, elegant lines and splashes of colour all characterise Lucia’s style. Leggy girls with elongated features appear in many of her works, and her variation in line weights, unusual angles and daring compositions really set her illustrations apart from the rest.Awards
