An expert when it comes to creatively sculpting paper, Gail's chosen projects range from stamps for the United Nations to a book cover for Harper Collins - both projects showing the versatility of her style.
She explains her first entry for the Design Product & Packaging category, "A set of 3 stamps commissioned by the UN for World Toilet Day - one for each of their offices. WTD celebrates toilets, raising awareness of the billions of people living without access to safe sanitation. This year they highlighted how the lack of a safe toilet, particularly for girls, is a proven barrier to education. At least one stamp had to show a toilet."
And for the Professional Publishing category, "I was commissioned by Harper Collins to make these all white, paper sculpture illustrations for Nita Prose’s debut novel “The Maid”. A charming whodunnit tale of Molly, the hotel maid, “who sees things that others don’t”. The images lead us into the world of the Regency Grand Hotel where things are not always as squeaky clean as they might appear."
Great news Gail, we'll hear the shortlist in September!
