Andrei Mallmann

Based on the island of Florianopolis, Andrei can see the waves from where he works – a starting point for his inspiration. With a background in journalism, photography and video, he became fascinated by animation and visual effects, and has developed to become a maestro with Adobe After Effects. Clients love working with Andrei because he’s a team player, collaborates easily with other creatives and will do that little bit extra to achieve the right results, on schedule. His influences include the photographer Sebastião Salgado, and the animator Ariel Costa, while his studio soundtrack includes Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath, with a little West Coast Reggae thrown in, such as Stick Finger.

Approach

Andrei takes a different approach to animation. Like many others, he finds visual references online, but the motion he creates comes from real-world observations, conveying everything from the power of the wind to a character’s unique gait when they walk.
