WIA 2024 Longlisters

The WIA celebrates outstanding work by illustrators worldwide, and these artists are no exception.

Making it to the longlist in these awards is a brilliant achievement. Congratulations to Sveta Dorosheva, Veronika Kiriyenko, Mark Oliver, Alyah Holmes, and Debora Islas for their impactful work across the categories of Advertising, Design, Product & Packaging.

Sveta Dorosheva's collaboration with The British Library was to create the key visual for their Fantasy exhibition,with her intricate artwork a prominent feature on tickets, billboards, wall art, and more.

Veronika Kiriyenko's illustrations for The Guardian's presence at the Glastonbury Festival 2023 adorned bags, a trailer, marquees, flags, and the festival’s mini-guide, creating a consistent visual theme. Her work highlighted society's courage in facing challenges and the importance of individual voices.

Mark Oliver illustrated five 'paying personalities' for Yonder's new lifestyle credit card with a rewards program. His illustrations were used in online publicity and social media, depicting the lengths people go to pay bills and earn points.

Alyah Holmes visualised statistics around period poverty for Plan International, highlighting the lack of access to period products due to their high prices.

Débora Islas created six illustrated labels for CANAL BRASIL's 25th-anniversary beer. The collection featured Brazilian films such as Bacurau, Dzi Croquettes, A Vida Invisível, and Cine Holliúdy, as well as programs like Larica Total and Choque de Cultura. Besides being the official beer labels, her illustrations were used in various digital and printed media formats, including videos, posters, promotional products, and events.

The shortlist is announced in July and the overall winners in September!
