Costa's Collapse

A poignant Politico cover is illustrated by the talented Diego Abreu.

As António Costa endeavours to restore his reputation amidst corruption allegations, positioning himself for a potential presidency of the European Council, Politico poses the question, 'Has Portugal's António Costa struck his last deal?'

Diego explains, "Costa has always had a very respected, venerated image, and he is seeing, from the perspective of the matter, his legacy crumble. So the brief was to represent him as a mythical figure who is collapsing, making an allusion to the well-known Portuguese tiles, as represented in the art. The challenge was to make this illustration in two days, but everything went well and the client was very satisfied."
