The Mystery Guest

The novel is the sequel to the author's previous bestseller The Maid - one which Gail also illustrated, and where readers meet the endearing Molly The Maid embroiled in a thrilling whodunit.

 

Gail explains her process, "The new cover has the viewer spying through the keyhole where we see Molly's hand holding a key. In true mystery style the key is not just a key - the heart-shaped head refers to the love everyone feels for Molly and how we saw her find love in the first book. But the heart also forms a question mark and the teeth of the key are a "M” - once again, all is not as it first appears!  In addition to the cover I also updated the frontage of the Regency Grand Hotel to reflect the hotel’s addition in this book of The Grand Tearoom and the increased prominence of the bar, “The Social”. Molly is now in a new pose and holding a feather duster, whilst a spot illustration of a bee on a teacup might be a clue to help solve the murder mystery….or is it?"
