The Lake's single malt whisky packaging

Soleado

The Lake's Distillery release their latest whiskymaker's edition with packaging art by Katharine Asher.

Bringing a sense of the Spanish landscape to the packaging, Katharine paints an ambient watercolour scene for Soleado, which takes inspiration from Andalusia.

Katharine's brief was to reveal the captivating Andalusian landscape using colours as a dramatic unveiling of the scene, reflecting the client's description of the whisky -

"The Whisky notes reflect the sense of travelling through the bright and luscious aroma-rich valleys of vibrant orange groves, where the fresh tang of Seville mermelada is ever-present in the air, sparked a moment of intrigue. Seeking to explore the fragrant, fruity, and floral characters that can be derived from the exclusive use of American Oak, Soleado is a single malt whisky that bursts with sun-kissed orange and rich honeydew. Awakening a fragrant backdrop of freshly cut flowers, it dissolves into creamy porridge with a scattering of almonds and a drizzle of honey; the ideal whisky to enjoy with a beautiful vista and spring in the air."
