Living Sustainably

Out in the current issue of Country Life Magazine, Alan Baker's imaginative machines are used in a spread on sustainability.

Alan was asked to illustrate a feature which looks at the sixty ways we can all change our habits in each room of the house. The Art Director wanted something along the lines of 'Heath Robinson's mad machines' which are run on human, wind or re-cycled water power, to accompany the article covering ideas such as using a water butt in your garden, car-sharing to the office and having milk delivered in glass bottles. Alan was delighted to receive a hand written letter through the post from the editor, Mark Hedges saying how much they loved the work!
