Training
I originally studied art history, which was also exciting, but far too dry! As a student, I simply wanted to become an artist. When I found out about the opportunity to study design with a focus on illustration, it was the right path - hands on. Drawing has always been a natural part of my life.
I have a degree in design (illustration), I also have a BA in Visual Communication and attended the European Animation Masterclass. That's what first led me to animated film.Approach
For graphic recording, I work analog with markers on large-format paper or on the iPad in Procreate.Programs Used
I'm at home in Adobe Illustrator - for animation I use Adobe Aftereffects. But I also like to work analog with watercolor or colored pencils.
Where did you grow up?
In Münster. During my studies, I lived in Sydney, Australia for 2 years. And half a year in Halle an der Saale.
Where do you live now and what drew you there?
I now live in Berlin.
Who or what is your biggest inspiration?
I am firmly convinced that every task requires its own visual language. In this respect, the "problems" that need to be solved are my greatest inspiration. Form follows function. Christoph Niemann is a great role model for me. I also admire Jason Ford, Penélope Bagieu, Anna Ginsberg and many colleagues.
