In the Library

Rohan Eason intimately illustrates 'What You Are Looking For Is In The Library" by Michiko Aoyama.

Five black and white character-led illustrations were commissioned for this new Penguin Books release, which sees Rohan's work paired with a Japanese text.

'What You Are Looking For Is In The Library' is a "Heart-warming tale of several people who get a little lost", explains Rohan. "And they find their way by the gentle nudge of a kind librarian. I had to find that special moment of realisation for each character, when things clicked, and a sense of what lay ahead or what could lay ahead or should lay ahead becomes apparent. It was a really endearing project, because we have all felt close to these characters, and the kindness of strangers or the power of coincidence can be a real force for self-betterment and change.
