A Bird Enthusiast

Vicky has created a pair of illustrations for the autumn edition of the children's magazine which features a piece on Emily Williamson; a bird enthusiast from the Victorian era.

Emily was horrified to discover that her favourite birds were being wiped out by the Victorian craze of decorating ladies hats with feathers, and sometimes whole birds.

Fortunately the practice was eventually outlawed, and as Vicky's energetic and bright designs suggest, Emily was joyous.
