Caroline Groves Atelier, a bespoke shoe maker asked Jacqueline to paint portraits of the exclusive clientele at her private view earlier this month. Jacqueline was also asked to create a 2m high mural on a wall in the main exhibition room of Farncombe House, a gorgeous stately home on the Cotswold Hills.
Jacqueline adds, "The mural was my first as I'd only previously painted on glass windows that size, painting on walls is less forgiving, especially when balancing precariously 6 feet at the top of a step ladder! I found that my approach to this event was slightly different as it was my first live drawing in over a year! As Caroline’s bespoke service is such a craft, I wanted to emulate that with spontaneous artwork rather my usual pencil sketching, working on a light pad, then the final piece on top. Instead I went straight to the actual artwork which required much harder focus but I was happy with the results - I thought that I should be well ‘limbered up’ after a year of ‘twice weekly’ zoom life drawing sessions!
