Silent Voices, Intertwined Paths

Patrick Boyer brings a narrative to life with his art for Silent Voices, Intertwined Paths, the debut album by Ukrainian violinist Sofia Yatsyuk.

Released on International Women’s Day, the design pays homage to the album’s celebration of two pioneering female composers - Dame Ethel Smyth and Rebecca Clarke, whose legacies are often overlooked in classical music history.

Patrick's beautiful and intricate collage weaves together portraits, historical ephemera, and lush botanical elements, evoking both the vibrancy of the music and the layered stories of the women behind it.

Through thoughtful composition and rich symbolism, the artwork not only reflects the album’s themes of rediscovery and advocacy but also stands as a testament to the power of illustration in amplifying underrepresented voices in both music and design.

Recorded with Canadian pianist Meagan Milatz, find out more here.
