This Wound Full of Fish is published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson and described as a dazzling and moving literary debut.

The wrap-around design enabled Gina to work with a landscape format and create a narrative reflecting an unnerving journey by water. The client asked that the jungle scene should have a sinister feel, suggesting danger and a sense of dread, and the protagonist should be in the boat with a child. The final piece is rich in detail and texture, with a mix of dark and bright colours for an ominous atmosphere.

Gina adds, "This has been one of my favorite inquiries, mixing two of my biggest inspirations, Colombia and nature. It also allowed me to explore new uses for my illustrations, this time for a book cover, and at the same time, it gave me the freedom to experiment with new color palettes and analog textures."
