Postcards from Brooklyn

Katharine Asher is selected to bring the classic retro Dior look back to life for a Harper's Bazaar and House of Dior project.

Katharine was extremely pleased to be chosen by The House of Dior for this commission; a collaboration between the fashion house and the iconic women's magazine. Her brief was to pair the Dior designs with iconic Brooklyn settings for a postcard collection.

Katharine adds, "It had helped immensely that I'd visited the Dior celebratory exhibition 'The Designer of Dreams' exhibition at the V&A before lockdown, for the direct exposure to his work enabled me to more fully understand the color and cut of these fabulous designs, developed post war in response to his utopian vision and desire to bring back what he felt was 'the neglected art of pleasing. This really was a dream job."
