Prisoners of Covid

Illustrating for France-Amérique, Li Zhang creates evocative artworks for their article on the Prisoners of Covid.

Li completed three illustrations for France-Amérique - a bilingual French-English magazine published every month.  The magazine targets French expatriates, Francophones and Francophiles living in the U.S and those with an interest in French culture, lifestyle, news, and commentary.

Prisoners of Covid discusses the people that have found themselves stuck in the US, Canada or France, knowing that if they visit their home country they may not be able to make the return journey. Li's emotive pieces give a sense of being trapped and isolated with their use of blue, a feeling of darkness and symbolic concepts.
