Carol Marin

Carol Marin, award-winning journalist, is illustrated by Kathryn Rathke for Chicago Magazine.

Asked to create a portrait of the former TV journalist, Kathryn instantly remembered watching her in the news when she was young. She explains, "We lived outside Chicago so it was 'the big city' to us, full of intimidating, beautiful people, and she was one of them; I’ve always associated her name with glamor."

Kathryn's artwork of Marin has been used to accompany an interview featured in Chicago Magazine where Marin talks of a gang threat, the Jerry Springer fiasco, and a 9/11 close call. Read it here.
