With the biggest names and the best emerging talent, the Cheltenham Jazz Festival takes place in May and is promoted with Lee's celebratory artwork. Lee wanted a lovely textural feel and depth to this artwork, with an organic mix of instruments growing out of the Cheltenham buildings, keeping it firmly in its geographical place. He explains, "I listened to jazz while drawing the sketches, being such a diverse genre it conjured up a lot of imagery, contrasts of smooth and sharp lines and shapes, splashes of color, instruments fizzing out shapes and patterns, pretty much what I feel and hear when I listen to jazz or any music! Oh…and of course it had to have that festival feel!" Find out more information on the festival here.
