Sister Jean

Kathryn Rathke creates a portrait of a worthy local for Chicago Magazine.

At 98, Sister Jean is quite a character in Chicago; a nun and Loyola University’s basketball team chaplain, she is a subject Kathryn could really get passionate about. Kathryn continues, "So I was happy to be able to draw this lovely woman but the cream on top is that they wondered if I could make her wink for their online version. Yes! I have been waiting for someone to finally commission a winking portrait!" To see the gif version visit Kathryn's portfolio.
