How to Slay a Werewolf

above and below - a selection of illustrations from the book

Sholto Walker illustrates an epic children's guide book on 'How to Slay a Werewolf".

Published by Ticktock and released this October, the book is a Professor Van Helsing guide and written by Martin Howard. With around 230 pages, the book for children and young teenagers is packed with diagrams, maps and illustrations on how to slay werewolves. Sholto says "The brief required around 200 drawings, mostly in black and white. As you'd expect with this subject, there was plenty of opportunity for some dark humor and the brilliant Martin Howard (ghost-writing under the expert guidance of The Professor), did a marvelous job creating a set of characters, situations and gags that were a real joy to illustrate. I suggested illustrating Van Helsing's final epic battle as a comic strip. Ticktock were very keen on this idea and the finished result I think gives a really thrilling end to the book. Mention too has to go to designer Hannah Mee who worked very closely with my illustrations to create a terrific looking Edwardian-style children's book."
