Question: What drew you to illustration/design? Thomas: That has been my one and only wish forever.
Question: Do you have any formal design training? Thomas: Yes, I majored in illustration in Hamburg, Armgartstrasse.
Question: Where do you live? Thomas: In Garstedt, near Hamburg, Germany.
Question: Can you describe your studio for me? Thomas: It´s a pretty 3 room apartment with lots of sunlight.
Question: What is your biggest inspiration? Thomas: My surroundings.
Question: How do you get the best ideas? Thomas: Observing and exchanging thoughts.
Question: What technique do you use? Thomas: Wacom Cintiq and Painter 11 and of course paper with ink- markers.
Question: Tell us about a favorite project you have recently completed. Thomas: I´ve had so many wonderful projects. A while ago, I did some flip-books with slow motion and camera panning.
Question: What would be your dream job/Commission? Thomas: I am very happy and excited what will come!
Question: Who are your illustration heroes? Thomas: Andre Franquin.
Question: Do you keep a sketchbook? Thomas: Yes.
Question: What are your hobbies? Thomas: My family, boardgames and watching motor sports.
Question: If you were not an illustrator, what would you be?Thomas: There is nothing, I would rather do!
Question: If you could travel back in time, where would you go to? Thomas: I would like to visit myself as a child in the 60´s- was it really all in black and white?
Question: What kind of music do you listen to? Thomas: A little bit of everything including R´n B´, Latin, Ska , Boss Hoss … and also Balkan BeatBox …
Question: If you won the lottery, would you still work as illustrator? Thomas: Yes, for sure! Question: Do you collect anything? Thomas: Models of cars. Question: Do you have a favorite game? Thomas: The Settlers of Catan
