Vicky Scott illustrates a tote bag for Watts Gallery Artists' Village

Watts' Tote

Vicky Scott is delighted to illustrate a tote bag for Watts Gallery Artists’ Village.

Vicky's design drew inspiration from the extensive collection of artworks, crafts, and architectural marvels found at the Watts Gallery, a testament to the creative prowess of George Frederic Watts and his wife, Mary Watts.

By blending elements of nature and architectural motifs, Vicky crafted a final piece that exudes an ornamental feel, with a carefully selected palette of four colors, and a design that pays tribute to the founders while serving as a heartfelt homage to the village.

She adds, "This was a perfect project for me as they were working during the late 19th/early 20th Century which meant I could indulge in some of my William Morris influences and also draw upon the beautiful natural surroundings of the Watts Gallery location. I was also assisted in my design by a local women’s group too who were extremely helpful in selecting which of Mr and Mrs Watts designs they preferred."

The tote is available for sale from the Watts Gallery website.
