Feminism in Harper's Bazaar

Jennifer Maravillas creates striking illustrations for this month's Harper's BAZAAR Japan.

The two pieces are part of the feminism special in the magazine and were artworks Jennifer had created previously and adapted to fit the concept of the editorial. She says "The floral illustration was based on a sign I created for the Women’s March in Washington that the client saw via the Amplifier Foundation who made them available for high res download worldwide.  I combined the flags and messages with flowers to represent feminism within the tradition of hanakotoba- the Japanese language of flowers. The blue and white piece was based on a design for a series of bandanas I had been creating around politics in the US."
