A Coney Island Portrait

Sarah Beetson creates an illustration of 'Gregory and Paul's' on the Coney Island Boardwalk.

Sarah Beetson creates an illustration of 'Gregory and Paul's' on the Coney Island Boardwalk.

This commission was more than a portrait piece for the family, it just so happens to be Sarah's 'favourite place within her favourite place in the world!' Her brief was to create an illustration of Paul, (who co-created Gregory and Paul's back in the 60's) with his daughter Tina who runs the business nowadays. Sarah says "Tina told me she didn't have any photos of herself and her Dad when she was little - so I created one. This eatery is my absolute signage mecca, and if Coney Island is my spiritual home, then Paul's Daughter is my local, the perfect place to pull up a bar stool, eat freshly shucked clams or a lobster roll and sip a Crabbe's Ginger beer over ice and lime, and chat to the locals about all things Coney".
