Combining photographs with handmade drawings and a double dose of humour, Tanya Cooper always delivers colourful, fun and esoteric imagery for her clients. From magazines to airlines, and from restaurants to educational publishers, everyone she works with finds her fast, friendly and flexible, capable of taking a brief and coming up with something fresh and imaginative.
Originally from Australia but currently based in England, Tanya has a diploma in Illustration from NMIT in Melbourne and an advanced diploma in Graphic Design from Enmore Design Centre in Sydney. She’s travelled the world, living in places as varied as Vietnam and Berlin. Meeting new people and trying new things feeds her creativity alongside her love of nature and the peace it offers.
Approach
Tanya uses a Mac to blend handmade pencil drawings and textures with found and bought imagery. She likes to have fun while she works, and her palette is very bright, dominated by pastel colours.Styles
There are two main types of work in Tanya’s portfolio. Her drawings feature naïve line work, with a light and fun look and feel. Meanwhile, she loves mixing the old and new in her collage work, giving fresh meaning to existing images, collecting unexpected items together to generate an interesting narrative or push an unusual concept.
