Artwork: Dragon Gleam The work is inspired by the Baroque painting called The Happy Family (1668) by artist Jan Steen. The reason I chose this source of inspiration is because I wanted to create a new, unique work. The intersection between Vietnamese art culture and contemporary art culture is what I aimed for when creating this work

Duckie is a Vietnamese illustrator based in Australia whose artwork bridges the traditional and the contemporary, and brings together generations young and old. Rooted in his Asian creative sensibility, and in particular his Vietnamese background, Duckie’s illustrations are rich in visual storytelling, blending folklore with modern art elements to form the next chapter in his cultural heritage.
