Clara Candelot is a fearless Brazilian illustrator who flips the paradigm by declaring that ‘more is more’. More colour, more ideas, more fun – it’s evident throughout her portfolio and it’s made her popular with influential brands in Brazil and globally.
Perhaps her adventurous style has grown out of her story as an artist. When COVID hit, Clara was working as a graphic designer and lost her job. Trusting in her ability and driven by enthusiasm, she set up as a freelance illustrator and hasn’t looked back. In lifestyle, tech, publishing, editorial and more, her Latin American-inspired imagery sparkles, fascinates and inspires.
Clara’s inspiration comes from her huge collection of children’s books, as well as from the worlds of fashion and interior design. From street art to tropical flora and fauna, she basks in the visual riches of her home city of Rio de Janeiro. Clients love how Clara turns ideas into imagery, the flexibility of her approach and the clarity of her work. She has a degree in Visual Communication from PUC-Rio.
